Hey, I'm John! I'm a St. Louis based photographer and filmmaker. Let me tell you a little about myself. Just the important bits. Born in El Paso, Texas (Charcoaler!) but immediately moved to California. Grew up skateboarding the streets of California during the school year with my mom and riding horses in Ruidoso, New Mexico in the summer with my dad. I grew up in two very opposite environments. Cut to me going to NMMI (New Mexico Military Institute class of '98) in Roswell, NM (aliens!) then the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (Breaking Bad!). There I discovered my love for film, photography, and hardcore punk rock. After practice, practice, practice, my band The United went on a six week tour where we decided to move to San Francisco. I got back into film and photography and then moved to Los Angeles. My wife and I were looking for our next adventure and decided to move to China. We planned for only a year but stayed for five. Then we moved to sunny Jeju island, South Korea to have a couple of rad kids. There, I was a stay-at-home dad for four years in addition to making marketing films in Asia. I moved to St. Louis in June 2022 to be close to family, root for the Cardinals, and kick it with you guys. Love to you all and thanks for visiting my site!

These portraits are distinctly you. There is consideration and planning on my part to create a unique one of a kind portrait using props, wardrobe planning, atmosphere and lighting considerations, and extra retouching and editing to perfection. These portraits capture those special moments. We will work together to choose indoor or outdoor locations that naturally embrace your look and style. There are no props, set designing, or moody attire like a custom portrait would be. These are natural down to earth photos that capture you and your family in natural surroundings. Need help, picking what to wear, choosing a location or posing? No sweat, I have all that covered. These are touching, polished photographs that will be proudly hung on your walls and passed down for generations to come. My expertise in lighting, composition and utilization of the environment will ensure a warm and loving representation of you and your loved ones. This option is perfect for individuals and families that want a natural, more grounded, and familiar approach. The retouching and editing is more neutral which gives you the versatility to use for anything from wall art, social media updates, invitations, and holiday cards.
